Why does Jesus ask his disciples who they say he is? Is it for his benefit? I don’t think so. It’s for their benefit. They must choose. We must choose, each and every day, what it is we’re going to believe about who Jesus is. Even if we’ve been believers for a really long time, we still have to make that proclamation every day. We have to choose to live that way. We have to choose that truth.
