The Fourth Sunday of Advent – Morning Worship

In that moment when Gabriel visited Mary, Mary didn’t ask what she was supposed to tell Joseph. She didn’t wonder aloud how she was supposed to explain this to her parents. Mary didn’t immediately panic and think about what this would mean for her socially and economically….  Mary did none of those things. She recognized God’s faithfulness to her, God’s care for her, and she stepped out in faith. I am not certain of too many things, but I am certain that God gave Elizabeth to Mary when she needed that companion on the journey. I am certain that God gives each of us companions on the journey; those to walk with, those to serve, and those to serve alongside as we make our way between advents.
