‘There’s a certain discipline to being able to be inadequate all of the time.’… In many ways, this is the heart of discipleship. We’re called to miraculously proclaim that the good news of the kingdom of God is at hand, and we are on the cusp of a Jesus fully returned and fully making the world right. But most every day, we wake up to these drips and drops of revelation and power that seem just enough to keep our hopes alive. And as it is for us, so I think it was for Jesus’ disciples in this moment.
