Stephen Ministers offer an ongoing, confidential, one-to-one listening ministry to persons in our congregation and community who are experiencing difficulties and losses (grief, divorce, loss of job, etc.). These persons are lay volunteers from our membership who complete 50 hours of training before they begin their service and engage in continuing education as long as they serve in this role. Stephen Ministries, based in Saint Louis, Missouri, provides training for volunteers who will be Stephen Ministry leaders in local churches and materials for these volunteers to use in training programs in their congregations. This program is named for the martyr Stephen, and the Stephen Ministry logo depicts the essence of that lay caring ministry. The logo is composed of a broken person behind a cross and a whole person superimposed on the cross. The cross in the center reminds us that the path from brokenness to greater wholeness is through Jesus Christ and the caring ministry of his people.” Please contact our Pastor, a Stephen Leader, or the church office to indicate interest in accessing the care of a Stephen Minister.
